Cybersecurity company Monal Tech from Nepal has been selected for the “Next 20 Startup Program”. The Kathmandu-based private startup will now compete with the global 20 in the “exhibit and pitch” session held from September 19-21 in Copenhagen, Denmark where the best will be announced as the winner.
On the occasion, the company expressed its delight in its blog post and held it as a recognition for its effort in Nepal’s digital sphere. “This prestigious recognition exemplifies our unwavering dedication to the ever-evolving digital landscape,” the company said in a statement.
Monal Tech earned the Startup ICT Award in 2022. Now, it’s headed for another recognition which will bring it wider exposure and grow its motivation.
Monal Tech Founder Mona Nyachong said that Next 20 Startup is a good platform for startups. She said that the program helps with companies’ investment, marketing, and exposure.
The Next20 Startup Program is organized by TM Forum’s DTW23 – Ignite. The participating startup ventures must be established within the last five years only.

Monal Tech to exhibit and pitch at Next20 Startup Program
Having been nominated for the popular Next20 STartup Program in Copengehan, the next act for Monal Tech would be to participate and impress the jury at the Exhibit and Pitch session which will revolve around the following premises:
- Energy Challenge: Under this topic, the startup will need to present ideas on it can lead the industry towards carbon neutrality, and cut energy consumption by at least 25% by 2025.
- Metaverse Challenge: Here, the company will exhibit and pitch on how connectivity providers achieve value in the metaverse, using immersive technologies such as Generative AI, or Web3 and help unlock benefits for small & large enterprises SMEs, government, and society.
- Future Telco: Here, Monal Tech will need to pitch for solutions that will help Provide build the telecommunications sector of the future and take part in the transformation wave to “help any TelCo become a real TechCo”.

The jury comprises a 6-member team from global tech firms that will select the winner at Copenhegan this September 21.
