Galli Maps wins Startup World Cup 2023 Nepal Award, to battle for the world prize in Silicon Valley

Galli Maps has won the Startup World Cup 2023 Nepal award. The startup which help users find lanes and alleys with a map app was presented with the accolade in this year’s Nepal edition at a recent event in Kathmandu. The company will now vie for the world recognition in Silicon Valley later this year.   

The company outran many other competitors to clinch the award which had startups from across Nepal apply for their claim.

The Startup ICT Award 2022 winner Galli Maps battled through the top ten startups from across the country and the top 5 from province and municipalities and stood out.

The best 5 startups in the final were Galli Maps, Quickfox Consulting, Diyo AI, Aster Innovation and Kelinit Upcycling.

Startup Hub Nepal organized the Nepal’s edition of the Startup World Cup Competition which takes place in across 100 countries. Pegasus Tech Ventures, the fundraising company of the American satellite company SpaceX, initiated the Startup World Cup competition.

Galli Maps clinches the third edition of the Startup World Cup Nepal Award

World Trade Group Nepal brought this prestigious startup fair in Nepal through its subsidiary company Startup Hub Nepal. It’s the third edition of the competition in Nepal.

Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Saran Mahat was present at the occasion. In his address, he said that the government is always ready to promote startups and support their innovation as he claimed that this year’s budget was able to address it.

Raj Bikram Maharjan from Galli Express received the award from Startup Hub Nepal chair Dr. Shambhu Pokharel, and Pegasus Tech Venture Partner and Startup World Cup Nepal 2023 Ambassador Cecilia Larasati.

Maharjan will now contest for the ultimate recognition in the Silicon Valley where he will stand a chance win USD1 million amounting to Rs 13 crores in Nepali currency.

The Startup World Cup Event is scheduled for December 1st 2023.
