Beginning with the design, Redmi hasn’t changed much here. The Redmi A2 and A2 Plus have a plastic body with a textured back panel. It comes in three colors: Aqua Blue, Sea Green, and Classic Black. You get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Under the hood of the Redmi A2/A2+ is a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. It is a 12nm octa-core processor with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. For graphics, the CPU embeds a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In terms of memory and storage, it comes with two options: 2/32GB and 4/64GB. Plus, the storage is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Moving to the optics, the Redmi A2/A2+ houses a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of an 8MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a QVGA depth sensor. The camera features dual-LED flash, and HDR for photos. While it can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
