Design and Display

Beginning with the design, Redmi hasnโ€™t changed much here. The Redmi A2 and A2 Plus have a plastic body with a textured back panel. It comes in three colors: Aqua Blue, Sea Green, and Classic Black. You get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

On the display side, both siblings sport a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720ร—1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Carrying a peak brightness of 400 nits, the teardrop display has a static 60Hz refresh rate and covers 81% of the front panel.

Performance

Under the hood of the Redmi A2/A2+ is a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. It is a 12nm octa-core processor with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. For graphics, the CPU embeds a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In terms of memory and storage, it comes with two options: 2/32GB and 4/64GB. Plus, the storage is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera

Moving to the optics, the Redmi A2/A2+ houses a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of an 8MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a QVGA depth sensor. The camera features dual-LED flash, and HDR for photos. While it can record 1080p videos at 30fps. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording capability.

Battery and Others

The Redmi A2 gets its fuel from a massive 5000mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging via a micro USB port. The phone runs on Android 13 (Go edition). For wireless connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, FM radio, and dual-SIM connectivity with 4G LTE support.
