UJAYA SHAKYA WINS “ASIA’S MOST ADMIRED MARKETING LEADER” AWARD IN SINGAPORE

Ujaya Shakya, Founder of Outreach Nepal, has been presented with the “Asia’s Most Admired Marketing Leader” award at the 14th edition of the CMO Asia Awards. The event, hosted at the Pan Pacific Singapore on 17th August 2023, celebrated the achievements and contributions of the prolific marketing personalities in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

CMO was established in 2010 and promoted by the World Federation of Marketing Professionals. The event recognized some of the most outstanding leaders with remarkable achievements in marketing.

Shakya’s agile and diligent efforts to represent Nepali advertising and cultivate a work-driven professional ecosystem in Nepal earned him a prestigious accolade.

Shakya has played a key role in the launch of several global brands in Nepal and has also led social behavior change communication (SBCC) campaigns focused on public health and social issues. He has experience of over 2 decades in strategic 360-degree communication, branding, and SBCC.

His book “Brandsutra” published in 2015 reflects his experience and expertise in the marketing field. He is a regular presence at prestigious industry events across Asia and is frequently invited as a jury member and speaker for advertising and brand awards in the region. Likewise, his leadership and commitment to uplift Nepal’s marketing industry have also been duly appreciated. He remains an inspiration to young professionals who want to excel and make a lasting mark in the industry of marketing.

Shakya highlights Nepali youth’s aspirations

Addressing the audience at the ceremony, Shakya said that the aspirations of Nepali youth surpass the grandeur of the mountains. He highlighted the need to have empathy towards consumers and their pain points stating that when technology has become a governing force these days, the human connection holds genuine importance.  

Dr. R L Bhatia, the founder of World CSR Day & World Sustainability, and Dr. Aalok Pandit, the executive director of CMO Asia, officiated the CMO Asia Award. The 14th edition of the awards recognizes over 40 CMOs from companies like IBM, Google, Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas, Microsoft, Otis, ADP, Rahimafrooz, HP, Salesforce, Autodesk, Hello Fresh representing countries across the Asia Pacific Region.
