Nepal’s fast-growing digital wallet Namaste Pay has been presented with the ‘Most Innovative Digital Wallet Deployment’ award at the 4th edition of the IBS Intelligence Global FinTech Innovation Awards 2023.
Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Binay Bijukchhe received the award on behalf of the company at an event in Mumbai.
The award ceremony was organized by a UK-based International Banking System Intelligence.
NDPC CEO Prabin Raj Pokharel expressed his delight at receiving the internationally renowned award. He said that it raised the responsibility of the company in its aim to create a cashless society.
NDPC is a joint venture of Rastriya Banijya Bank (NRB) and Nepal Telecom (NTC). They have joined hands to make a mark in Nepal’s digital payment landscape with a digital wallet “Namaste Pay”. Their effort has been to bring innovative payment solutions since inception.
Namaste Pay is the first mobile wallet in Nepal that launched offline payment. Users can start offline transactions by dialing *500# without the internet. There is also a feature of split bills which lets users pay the bill individually. The wallet also has a request money feature allowing users to take P2P loans.
Namaste Pay allows users to send money, transfer money to the bank, mobile top-up, pay for TV, internet, electricity bills, etc.
