Nepal’s leading commercial bank Machhapuchchhre Bank has introduced a voice notification feature for POS (point-of-sale) machine payment. The technology called “Instant Payment Notification” sounds out an alert upon successful POS machine transactions which the bank claims is the first time in Nepal.
The voice alerts will help merchants and customers with instant confirmation of payment across Nepal. As per the bank, the FinPOS machine will issue both a notification confirming the payment and a receipt.
The voice-based notification service comes following MBL’s audio alert notification for QR payment. Earlier, the bank also launched a Tap N’ Pay offline payment service via its mobile banking app MBL M-Smart. Being one of the prominent Class A banks, MBL has prioritized offering innovative digital banking services and the POS voice alert is its latest.
MBL POS voice notification would give instant notification that saves time for both buyers and merchants. It would also strengthen people’s trust in using POS machines for payments.
Machhapuchchhre Bank launches voice notification for POS machine payments
From now on, POS merchants can benefit from instant audio notification from Machhapuchchhre Bank upon transaction from payment cards, QR technology such as FonePay and NepalPay, and M Smart NFC.
“The service will raise the popularity and trustworthiness of card transactions among the customers and merchants,” the bank said in a statement.
Merchants who have more than a thousand POS of Machhapuchhre Bank will directly benefit from this facility.

The bank also said that if any other merchants want to acquire this technology, they can contact the customer service center of Machhapuchchhre Bank and get this service.
