X will Soon Get Audio and Video Calling- Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) says that the social media platform will soon have audio and video call services. The eccentric SpaceX supremo shared that the feature will revolutionize social media communication.

Musk said that the feature will soon be available on X platforms. The ability to audio/video calls on the X app will allow users to connect with others worldwide without even sharing their phone numbers. The move could potentially come in competition with popular messaging apps such as Telegram, Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.

Audio video calls on X app

Audio and video calls will be available on all X platforms- Android, iOS, PC, and MAC. With this chat service, Musk wants to elevate communication on its platform. He believes that the feature will be great for the global address book.

Musk is also cherishing the vision of a super app (more on below) where users get messaging, payment, and more services.

Musk also emphasized the company’s commitment to user data privacy. The company will soon start encrypting direct messages ensuring that users’ messages are protected and secure.

Twitter has gone through a host of reformations since Musk took over in October 2022. On July 30, 2023, Musk rebranded Twitter and changed its name to X.
