- Samsung CFO Meets PM Deuba and shows the company’s strong commitment to Nepal’s betterment
- The meeting follows Samsung’s announcement to build a manufacturing plant in Nawalparasi, Nepal.
Samsung Electronics Global President & CFO Mr. HK Park paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba and spoke of the company’s strong commitment to Nepal. Mr. Park was accompanied by a delegation of other senior executives of the company. The meeting took place on Thursday, August 24th.
During the meeting, Mr. Park discussed with the Nepali PM of various initiatives Samsung is undertaking in the country. The assessment focused on the areas of manufacturing, retail, and employment generation. He also assured the Nepali PM of Samsung’s commitment to the welfare of the community, especially the youth, through future initiatives.
Just earlier, Samsung with its local partner Him Electronics, a subsidiary of Golchha Group announced the setting up of a Samsung LED TVs manufacturing plant in Nawalparasi, Nepal. The electronics giant is confident the factory will bolster the Nepal government’s objective of boosting local production capabilities and employment generation.
Samsung has been in Nepal for over two decades becoming a favorite household brand for electronic goods. The company sells TVs, smartphones, refrigerators, washing machines, and microwaves in the Nepal market through its partners. The company has a strong network of over 2,000 electronics retail stores and customer service centers.
