Now, you can pay your driving license revenue online. Gandaki Province has started the online payment service for driving licenses from Pokhara which ends the need to stay in long lines at the traffic management offices to pay the sum.
The electronic driving license revenue payment has been recently launched by the government.
At a program recently held at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management, the Minister duos Prakash Jwala and Resham Bahadur Jugjali jointly inaugurated the long-demanded service for the public. The payment system though is still in its beta phase and remains experimental. And while it has started in Pokhara, soon, it will be extended to the capital cities of all the remaining six provinces.

Speaking at the event, Minister Jugjali said that the online driving license revenue payment will ease out the public and help avoid standing in long queues at the offices. It is also expected to minimize the middlemen trend which adds a further financial burden and a challenge on governance.
Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, General Director of the Department of Transport Management, shared that around six to seven thousand customers are applying for driver’s licenses daily. So, the online revenue payment system will bring relief to all they are going to provide relief to the customers by operating an electronic service system.
After the service is operational, the department has clarified that except for participating in biometric tests, written and practical tests, including medical services, all work including revenue payment can be done online. It was informed on the occasion that 33 lakh 60 thousand people have obtained driver’s licenses in Nepal.
