You will soon be able to watch Nepali films on Hamro Patro. The super app is soon launching an OTT service that enables users to watch popular Nepali movies on their smartphones.
Hamro PatroFintech Operations Director Sudina Gautam shared that the company plans to bring Nepali films to Hamro Patro like other OTT platforms. Being a super app, the company is consistent in adding new features and services. Gautam said that the company is already working on bringing an OTT-like service to the app.

Watch Nepali films on Hamro Patro
Nepali films should arrive soon on Hamro Patro as hinted by the company’s FOD Sudina Gautam. She shared that Hamro Patro will buy films from producers and provide royalties on the basis of the views they receive.
It’s been hinted that films will be available to Hamro Patro subscribers. However, it’s not yet clear if the current subscribers will have access to the movies. The company could make an entirely new subscription model for its movie venture.

Hamro Patro OTT or an in-app service?
The question is whether Hamro Patro would start a new Hamro Patro OTT service or bring the platform on its app. The company has released Hamro Pay as a separate app after keeping it solely within the main app. So, there could be the same Hamro Patro OTT direction for films. But we need to wait and see to learn how the company plans ahead with its OTT service.
If Hamro Patro launches an OTT service, it will give a stiff challenge to others such as Netflix, and domestic players such as Cinemaghar and Kantipur Cinemas. Hamro Patro has over 10 million users so the app can leverage its base to upscale its streaming service.
