Fast-growing digital wallet Namaste Pay, a joint venture of Nepal Telecom and Rashtriya Banijya Bank has launched Split Bills option for its customers. The new feature allows users to perform bill payments and split them among others with just a tap.
The feature also lets users notify their friends/family or colleagues about the amount they owe and allows the person receiving the request to pay back to the initiator.
Split Bills is available on both Android and iOS platforms. It is a usable and unique service helping with transaction facilities for both the transaction initiator and the receiver.
Regarding the service, the company’s spokesperson said, “This feature is a very useful add-on feature in various bill payments made by wallet customers. There are instances when one person pays the bill, it may be through a merchant payment transaction or a QR scan and then they must keep on following up within the group to collect the outstanding amount.”
The feature lets users send requests easily right after the bill has been paid and receive money without having to share details of the wallet each time with each user.
Namaste Pay is an evolving wallet app and faces stiff competition in the crowded market in its sector. But now, the company is also focusing on service differentiation which will help it form a different identity with its base while potentially amassing new users.
