Avatar 2 has triggered an enthralling advance ticket booking in Nepal ahead of its much-anticipated release. Hitting theatres after 13 long years, the sequel to the original film has hinted at a possible strong opening despite a relatively small market size in the country. The movie will be shown on both 2D and 3D technology.
At the moment of writing this post, Avatar: The Way of Water has already received over 50% of bookings, data from major multiplex chains show. The movie is just 4 days ahead of its release on Saturday, December 17th. More tickets will be booked in the next few days before the curtain pulls for the historically successful James Cameron venture.
QFX multiplex has already indicated a houseful opening for the movie as advance booking looks set to be sold out.
The leading cinema chain has allotted 60 shows for the movie – 47 in 3D and 13 in 2D technology. Unlike a typical Hollywood movie, Avatar 2 runs for 3 hours and 10 minutes. It could be the likely reason for the smaller number of shows despite strong bookings.
