Nepal’s prominent eCommerce platform Daraz is set to use electric scooters to deliver orders. As part of its environment-friendly operations, the company has decided to implement two-wheeler EVs for its services.
For this, the company informed that it bought 10 Okinawa dual electric bikes. Currently, Daraz will use the EV delivery service in Kathmandu only.

On September 24, Daraz Managing Director Anchal Kunwar handed over EV keys to the delivery heroes at Gopi Krishna, Solti Mod, and Thasikhel hubs at a program.
Daraz says the EV scooters will be used for delivery in Dhumbarahi, Chabahil, Kuleshwar, Kapan, Kalimati, Sanepa, Nagarjun, New Road, Jawalakhel, etc.
The company expects its EV initiative to minimize exported fuel with domestically generated clean and green power and control its carbon footprint in the environment.

Apart from that, the company also plans to add more EVs to its two-wheeler and four-wheeler fleet.
“It’s part of Daraz’s environment-friendly operation steps. We will try to minimize carbon footprint in the environment from our side,” said Daraz Managing Director Anchal Kunwar, “In our packaging, we reuse 80% of paper and try to completely go paperless.”
