From now on, banks need to put an employee’s name and contact at their ATM outlets to solve any possible problems that may arise while dispensing cash. The move seeks to address problems for bank customers who face issues while trying to withdraw cash at ATMs.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) brought the rule to resolve issues that many customers face while making withdrawals at ATMs. Users face issues like cash getting stuck, not dispensing, machine malfunctioning, etc. So, the bank’s contact details help customers contact the bank for an immediate solution.

When a problem arises, customers feel lost at solution. According to NRB, customers have received complaints that they couldn’t get a solution even after hours of conveying the issue to the concerned bank. That is why it has announced the rule for all banks to keep one of their employees’ name and contact at their ATM outlets.
While NRB has brought this rule, banks will still need some time to implement it. But it goes without saying that it’s going to be a great service for ATM users. The worse situation is that when an ATM outlet is far from the bank and a problem ensues, customers get stranded and go through lengthy and hectic procedures to find a solution.
