Preliminary work has been started to construct the first international racing track in Nepal. The circuit will be designed and built in the Rastriya Khelkud Pratishthan (Gauritar Stadium) parking site in Gauritar Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan- 06.
In recent years, Nepal has turned into a sport-loving region with youth accepting and introducing games foreign to the country a few decades ago. The race course in concern is the new transition in this growing affinity with racing sports.
1,300 meters racing track in Nepal
As per the design, the race course will stretch 1,300 meters. The Bagamti Provincial government will bear the cost of the construction of this racing track.
Bagmati Province and NASA Foundation Nepal have collaborated to build Nepal’s first race track in Hetauda.
The total cost of the Gauritar Stadium is estimated to reach Rs 90 crore. NASA Foundation Board of Directors member said that the construction will begin in January 2024.

NASA had some government representatives inspect the racing tracks of Sri Lanka and France and had them agree to build it in Hetauda. “Since under-construction Gauritar stadium is owned by the government, its parking lot is going to be developed as a racing track,” he said.
