Hamro Pay app top features, UI, future ahead

The Hamro Patro app is now separately available for download. The app first launched inside Hamro Pay is now standalone on Play Store and will soon launch on iOS too. The digital wallet allows utility payments, mobile top-ups, Bluebook renewal (it didn’t work on mine while writing this article), etc., but it also has some unique features such as Split Pay, which allows you to ask for money on the app. In this post, we discuss the Hamro Pay app, its main features, and its future.

Hamro Patro App is now a dedicated platform

Hamro Pay was first launched inside the Hamro Patro app. It is still available there. However, now, the app has started its journey by itself. The fast-growing digital wallet is one of the major ventures of Hamro Patro Inc. Starting with 10.03.1, the app became available as a standalone app on Google’s Play Store and will hit iPhones soon.

The wallet’s new journey indicates broader plans for the app. The digital wallet industry is crowded, and only a handful are doing well, including eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, etc. However, staying in-app could have posed an issue with its authenticity and uniqueness. So, the company brought it as a separate app for smartphone users. Also, it is more convenient for users to simply download the Hamro Patro App to use its digital wallet services instead of opening the Hamro Patro app.

But despite the developments, the Hamro Pay app has the same features that it has within the Hamro Patro app. Below the post, we discuss the main features of the Hamro Pay app, user interface, options, etc.

Hamro Pay user interface

The Hamro Pay app’s user interface is clean and user-friendly. It’s characterized by a simple yet beautiful layout. Most of the key services are placed on the home page. The bottom tab features more options, which are also easy to navigate. The combination of white and red colors also complements its original theme and Hamro Patro roots.

Hamro Pay app features

Essentially, the app feels very lightweight and smooth. As a user myself, I found it very convenient to go through the options and use them. Plus, the ability to check transaction history, transaction by category, etc. helps me get a clear view of my spending patterns. I can also sort out my own spending behavior, thanks to these features.

Hamro Pay Features

Easy login

It’s very easy to log in. You can log in to the Hamro Pay app using your Google or Facebook account. If you have fast data or a WiFi connection and, of course, either of the accounts, then it’s super easy to log in to the app. But of course, don’t forget to update your KYC for the complete financial services you get on the app.

Easy interface for payment options

The Hamro Pay app lets you pay your electricity, internet, TV, insurance, bills, etc. You can also book flight tickets and bus tickets and pay your education fee for select institutions. All these payment options are found on the home page. As the app opens, you see these options, which is very convenient and satisfying.

You can also minimize the options to view less. However, it’s better to keep all these options in full view.

Split Money and Ask Money

Other key Hamro Pay app features are Split Money and Ask Money. Split Money lets you and your peers split the money to pay off a bill. Suppose you are in a restaurant and want to share the bill. You can use this feature to contribute your share to the bill payment.

Hamro Pay Ask Money

You can also ask for money from another user. To ask for funds from another, you need to enter their mobile number and other details to authenticate user Identity. Having an option to ask for some funds in need is very handy. Of course, I can withdraw money from my bank account, but for me, being able to ask for some money quickly from another friend is quite convenient.

Besides, you can see your receivable and payable amount under their dedicated options.

Transaction history

Another useful Hamro Pay feature is a facility to see our transaction history. The feature lets you check your payment history per month. You can see the time of the transaction and the remarks you entered.

Furthermore, you can also see your expenses by category in Analytics. It helps you see what you have spent your most money on. This could also help you with financial management. Seeing what takes most of your money is quite helpful.

Customer service

What I also like is Hamro Pay’s apt facilitation for customer service. If you tap on More on the bottom left, you see Chat with Support, which lets you talk with the company’s representatives directly. You can see the representatives at the top. You can enter your message, check read receipts, and communicate with Hamro Pay.

Check and send your feedback

You can also send your feedback or see the trending issues other users have conveyed to the app. To send your feedback, you need to create an account. Then, you can give your feedback a title and write details. This lets you share what problems you have and get their comments on your feedback. It’s a user-centric feature and is fun, meaningful, and engaging.

Verdict on Hamro Pay app features and its future

Hamro Pay is light, smooth, and efficient. It doesn’t feel bulky or hard to navigate. So it makes using the app very convenient. However, the app could bring more features and payment services. I think event ticketing could be quite a useful feature for users. The options are huge there. But the app is still growing, so let’s cut it some slack.

But while using the Hamro Pay app inside Hamro Patro, the frequent ads will feel very intimidating. Of course, the Hamro Patro premium version gets rid of those intrusive ads, but not everyone would love to pay for a subscription. That’s one quibble, but it has a solution with a subscription to the Hamro Patro app.

Hamro Pay features

But broadly speaking, the future looks exciting and challenging for Hamro Pay. The industry has so far been dominated by eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, etc. Reportedly, Khalti and IME Pay are merging to make the country’s largest digital wallet app. If true, it could also affect Hamro Pay’s influence. But time will tell. So far, Hamro Pay seems to be on the right path.
