Ms. Reena Dongol has been appointed the new chairperson of Nepal Digital Payments Company Limited (NDPC), the parent company of Namaste Pay digital wallet.
Dongol was elevated to the position with a unanimous decision at the company’s board meeting on Bhadra 30, 2081. She took oath from Binod Raj Acharya, Executive Director of Payment System Department of Nepal Rastra Bank in the presence of NDPC CEO Mr. Prabin Raj Pokharel on Ashoj 13, 2081.
After the oath-taking ceremony, Chairperson Ms. Dongol expressed her delight and said, “I am excited about the potential of our initiatives to advance financial inclusion and contribute to economic empowerment.”
Namaste Pay is one of the new and gradually rising mobile wallets in Nepal. However, the industry faces stiff competition from eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, and others like Hamro Pay. Dongol will have a challenge to accentuate its growth and grow its relevancy in the crowded digital wallet market.
