Khalti users can withdraw cash from Nabil Bank ATMs

Khalti users can now withdraw cash on their Khalti account from Nabil Bank ATM outlets. The facility comes after both the bank and the payment service provider reached an agreement recently to facilitate digital mobile withdrawal from ATM outlets.

The service enables Khalti users to dispense cash from Nabil Bank’s ATMs without using an ATM card.

The bank says that the agreement was made to connect the bank’s wallet to the ATM transaction system. According to the agreement, Khalti wallet users can withdraw a maximum of Rs 5,000 per day and a maximum of Rs 25,000 per month. The transaction facility complies with the NRB-dictated digital transaction limit.

Nabil Bank Deputy CEO Adarsh Bajgain said that the agreement has helped expand the bank’s ATM network to wallet users. “Nabil Bank is committed to providing easy service to customers by making maximum use of technology, and accordingly, the agreement with Khalti has been signed,” he said. “The new facility will save customers’ time and also eliminate the hassle of card management. Nabil Bank’s commitment to digital transformation in Nepal’s fintech ecosystem will be further strengthened,” he added.

Khalti Wallet CEO Praveen Regmi said that this collaboration with Nabil Bank is an important effort to build a digital economy. “This agreement will help establish easy access for app users to the bank’s large network. The agreement is in line with our plan to make our financial transactions fast, easy, and inherently secure.”

Prior to this, eSewa also launched an ATM withdrawal facility. Khalti (now with IME Pay) has brought a similar service to its millions of customers.

The company expects that ATM withdrawal will help Khalti users easily withdraw cash in need.
