The company announced and brought the facility on Magh 22, the day of its 21st anniversary. Now, you don’t need to visit Ntc offices or counters to get an eSIM. In this step-by-step guide, we let you know you can get an Ntc eSIM online on your phone or computer.

Nepal Telecom brought eSIM service in 2022. The company first distributed eSIM from its Sundhara counter and then expanded it to all NT offices across Nepal. The company brought this service fulfilling its promise of providing customers with modern and innovative services.

Noteworthy is that you can apply for Ntc eSIM only on your mobile phone anywhere.

Things to remember before you apply to get Ntc eSIM online

Here are a few things to keep in mind and act on while you apply online to get Ntc eSIM:

  • Ensure that your number is in active status. It means, your phone must have validity and be operational with no services barred.
  • The NT app must be updated to the latest version for the online eSIM option to work.
  • Applying for Ntc eSIM online costs Rs 50. So, you need to have at least Rs 50 on your phone’s main balance.
  • It’s important that your profile is updated. If it’s not, you can update your KYC on the NT app or at the company’s office nearest to you.
  • You may run into problems with the online service being unable to verify your Citizenship ID/Issued District. If it occurs, you need to visit the NT counter for a solution.
  • While taking a picture of your citizenship, it’s advised that you hold your citizenship in your hand to get a clear picture.
  • Remember to dial *442*2# to activate Ntc VoLTE on your phone after scanning the eSIM QR. Then, activate VoLTE and restart your device.
  • If you run into any issues such as verification problems or technical ones while applying for Ntc eSIM online, you should visit the NT office or counter for a fix.

How to get Ntc eSIM online?

  • First, start by opening the NT app and tap on eSIM.
  • It redirects you to NT eSIM Portal or you can also directly visit https://esim.ntc.net.np/ to reach the same page.
  • Enter the 10-digit mobile number which you want an eSIM for.
  • Enter the OTP you receive on the phone number you just entered.
  • Tap on Verify & Continue.
  • Submit details such as your citizenship ID and Issued District and tap on Verify Me Details. If this doesn’t work, you may need to visit the NT office for a solution.
  • Tap on Apply for e-SIM.
  • Again, fill out other details, upload your citizenship (Max file size 300 KB), and tap on Next.
  • Now you need to take a picture of your citizenship. Tap on Take Photo, hold your original citizenship in hand take its picture and upload then tap on Submit.
  • Next, the system reviews your information including the citizenship and if verified, you see a Success message.
  • Now, NT verifies and approves your request for eSIM online. Be patient as the process can take a while.
  • Tap on Activate MY ESIM and then you can download your Ntc eSIM QR.
  • Use the same QR to scan the eSIM profile and install it.
