CG Net launches WiFi 6 internet service, find benefits

CG Net has announced the launch of the WiFi 6 service for its customers. The private internet service provider (ISP) has promoted the next-gen WiFi technology for its customers, mainly outside of Kathmandu, to lure in more users. WiFi 6 brings substantial improvement over WiFi 5 with faster internet speed, reliability, and lower latency. Here, we have more details.

CG Net WiFi 6 packages

According to CG Net, customers of 150 Mbps, 250 Mbps, 300 Mbps, and other packages will be able to enjoy WiFi 6 service. Therefore, customers of these packages will get a WiFi 6 router and experience greater reliability out of their subscription. Compared to WiFi 5, WiFi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) brings superior network performance that users can feel while streaming, gaming, and during other data-heavy tasks.

CG Net says that WiFi 6 would be ideal for its customers who need an internet connection for gaming, video conferencing, live streaming, etc. It adds that devices like smartphones and tablets can also see better battery performance on WiFi 6. As it works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, it provides better coverage, low latency, and consistent performance. Both residential and office customers can buy and enjoy the benefits of WiFi 6 technology.

But CG Net has made it clear that customers need to use WiFi 6-compatible devices to receive the benefits of this technology. All flagship phones and midrange smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy A56, support WiFi 6. Since WiFi 7 is backward compatible, if you have a WiFi 7 device, it also supports WiFi 6 connection.

WiFi 6 is becoming more common thanks to ISPs

In recent years, more ISPs are bringing WiFI 6 for their customers. And it’s good for both ISPs and customers in terms of performance and user experience. Vianet, Dish Home, WorldLink, etc., also provide WiFi 6 for their users in flagship internet packages. This not only improves the performance level but also boosts productivity and could be time-saving.

Many Nepali internet users are into streaming, gaming, and heavy internet tasks. There are also small and medium enterprises and large businesses, malls, etc., that need fast speed around the clock. So, WiFi 6 can address that need for a more consistent and reliable WiFi performance.

And since we are still years away from commercially using WiFi 7 in our households, WiFi 6 is a right step in that direction.
