Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., Nepal’s official distributor for BYD electric vehicles, has installed 11 DC fast chargers for electric vehicles across the country. As per the company, it’s an expansion of the already existing network of 14 40 kW fast chargers. Cimex not only sells BYD EVs in Nepal but is also responsible for installing EV charging stations.
These widely available and affordable EV fast chargers are expected to complement the company’s commitment to sustainable solutions in automobiles. The new EV charging infrastructures were launched to address the growing demand for charging stations. They are strategically established in different parts of the country to cater to the BYD customers living and riding around the country.
Unlike traditional fuel-run vehicles, EVs may require charging stations with certain specifications. That’s why EV brands prefer to design and establish their own charging stations.

As per Cimex Inc., the recently operational 11 BYD fast charging stations are launched in the following major locations:
- Pokhara
- Nepalgunj
- Butwal
- Biratnagar
- Janakpur
- Narayangarh
- Anamnagar
- Mulkot
- Birtamod
- Naxal
- Guheshwori

Eco-friendly EVs are in an upward trend and that also increases the demand for more charging stations. BYD, which is easily one of Nepal’s most popular EV brands, is aggressively expanding its electric vehicle ecosystem by increasing both imports of EV units and building more EV charging stations in Nepal. BYD Atto 3 and BYD Dolphin are some of the massively popular EV cars in Nepal.
The company is also planning to set up 18 more DC fast chargers across the country by the end of 2023.
