Bir Hospital in Kathmandu has been connected with eudroam WiFi internet. The broadband service available at the premises of the hospital has been brought by the Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN). Eduroam is an internet service that is exclusively used by institutes where researchers, staff, and students can gain access to it as part of a global network.
Now, doctors, staff, and researchers of Bir Hospital can connect to eduroam broadband connectivity while visiting any other member institute. That also means any individual from a participating EDUROAM institute can access the eduroam WiFi at Bir Hospital. The connectivity is mutually shared among all the institutes that are part of the eduroam network.
This internet service is available to very particular institutes and the representatives can use the internet while visiting any member institution globally.
In Nepal, NREN has established eduroam internet at various universities, and 30 educational research institutes.
