All federal hospitals in Nepal now accept QR-based online payment. The move aligns with the government’s initiative to facilitate an easier payment facility for the public.
The health ministry had forwarded efforts for an online transaction facility at federal hospitals. This has materialized now after cooperation with payment service providers and other concerned bodies.
The ministry has sent a letter to all federal hospitals and institutions requesting them to make arrangements to accept bill payments online and through QR.
Prior to this, the ministry has also proceeded with an electronic record of patients. It’s being implemented now. The electronic payment is going to make it easy for people at federal hospitals.
QR payment at the federal hospitals is part of a broader management plan
The online payment is part of a 9-point plan of the Health Ministry to improve crowd management in hospitals. The online payment minimizes the hassles people face at hospitals for collecting tickets and paying their bills.
The health minister Pradip Paudel’s secretariat states that its Quality Measurement and Regulation Division will strongly regulate the management of online payment practices at all federal hospitals.
