Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics manufacturer has launched its first-ever electric car Xiaomi SU7. It’s an electric sedan EV and will be manufactured by Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd (BAIC). The certification has shown that the SU7 series will comprise three variants- SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max with up to 664 BHP and come in models with and without Lidar technology options. Here are its first details and the expected price in Nepal.
And before we jump to the specifications, we have some solid data which proves how well the car has been received in its home market. Within 24 hours of it being available for pre-orders, Xiamoi says that it received 88,898 pre-booking registrations.
Enamored Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun claimed that the Xiaomi S07 EV beats the Tesla Model 3 in 90% of the specifications barring a couple. He shared that deliveries of the iconically popular EV will start by the end of April. Xiaomi maintains that it targets 20 million potential customers for its new EV. Xiaomi SU7: Two powertrain options
Xiaomi will offer SU7 in two powertrain options- single motor and dual motor. The standard variant will produce 295 BHP and a top speed of 210 kmph. The premium lineup will feature dual electric motors with each on either axle and produce 664 BHP.
Xiaomi is said to procure lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for its base version from BYD while using CATL batteries for the top-of-the-line model. Both variants will reach the same top speed of 210 km/h.

Dimension
The Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan will measure 4,997 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height. The sporty EV will rock a 3,000 mm long wheelbase, while the wheel size will have an option of 19 inches and 20 inches. The base version will weigh 1,980 kg while the premium lineup will be 2,205 kg in weight.
Software system
The Xiaomi SU7 EV will be powered by the company’s new-generation software HyperOS. The cross-platform operating system was launched in November 2023 and can seamlessly connect the car with smartphones.
The EV will have a touchscreen infotainment system inside the interior.

Xiaomi SU7 EV price in Nepal
Xiaomi SU7 price in Nepal shall start at around 85 lakh for the standard model with its official price set at CNY 215,900 in China. The Max variant costs CNY 299,900 which could mean around Rs 1.2 crores in Nepal.
The EV will be available in at least gray and blue shades, but more color options might also be available after the official launch.
