Nepal’s pioneering digital wallet platform eSewa has successfully hosted its 13th annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, Mangsir 24. The event was organized at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel in the presence of the company’s chairman of the board of directors, Parshuram Kunwar Chhetri, and all the shareholders of the company.
The AGM approved the annual report of the board of directors of the company for the fiscal year 2081/82, the balance sheet, and financial statements with the auditor’s report.

eSewa to splash Rs 30.60 crore in dividends
eSewa’s 13th AGM approved the earlier made decision to issue a cash dividend of Rs 30.60 crore (including tax), equivalent to 80.53 percent of the current paid-up capital and a bonus share of Rs 12 crore, equivalent to 31.58 percent of the paid-up capital from the company’s net profit and reserve fund.
The meeting re-elected Subash Sharma and Saugat KC, who are representing the Board of Directors, and PKF T. R. Upadhyay & Company has been appointed as the auditor for the FY 2082/83.
Addressing the general meeting, Chairman Parashuram Kunwar Chhetri expressed his commitment that the company’s financial condition is encouraging and that it will be further improved in the coming days.

Uss can use the eSewa mobile app or web to pay for goods and dozens of services, including payment for utilities, internet, etc. And despite seeing continuous issues with the app’s operation a few months back, the company has resumed its services to full capacity with the users’ trust.
The company has about 10 million users, the highest for any mobile wallet in Nepal, even after the start of the integrated transaction of Khalti and IME Pay.
