Tata Punch EV facelift 2026 has been launched with a bigger battery and battery as a service (BAAS) in India. The lineup’s continuation with improvements reflects Tata’s strategy to bolster its compact electric SUV segment.

Tata Punch EV facelift 2026’s key highlight is its 40kWh battery option, which is bigger thanthe 25kWh and 35kWh options in the original Tata Punch EV model. It offers a range of 468 km (ARAI-certified). That’s the lab thing in an ideal environment. Anyway, in the real world, it should still deliver around 355 km on a full charge. Likewise, it also supports 65 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the vehicle from 20 to 80% in 26 minutes. The company claims that a 15-minute charge can provide a 135 km ride.
Besides, the 30kWh battery variant is also available, which should offer over 300 km of range.
Performance and power
The 40kWh variant has 129 PS and 154 Nm of torque, while the 30kWh model features 88 PS of power and 154 Nm of torque. It can reach 0 to 100 km/h in nine seconds. It’s got 195 mm of ground clearance, which makes it suitable even for Nepali roads.

Other features are nearly identical. It features ESP, ABS, EBD, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, etc. But the facelift gets a high beam alert feature, which notifies drivers not to blind oncoming drivers with the beams. Also, the new variant gets an LED at the edges. Overall, it feels cleaner and more minimal.
The compact SUV comes witha BaaS plan in India. This means customers can pay battery usage charges separately at Rs 2 per km.

The PUnch EV facelift is likely to launch in Nepal, and if it happens, it will be one of the best electric cars to buy in Nepal. But it will be interesting to see whether it will be offered with the BaaS program and the same price range as we saw with the same with the Tata Tiago EV 2025.
