Nepal’s leading ride-sharing platform, Pathao, has introduced a mandatory 80% score for aspirants to become its riders. The company says that the provision helps make its services secure and bring quality.
Pathao has provisioned at least 80% of the marks required to pass its exams to become an official rider.
Marketing Head Suraksha Hamal said that the company has conducted a mandatory online training and examination system for its riders to ensure the quality, safety, and service experience of its customers. Since the beginning, she added that riders have been adopting the standards Pathao demands of them to be proficient in their service. They are also given training in digital systems, customer service, and traffic discipline, which are necessary to operate a ride-hailing service.

Pathao makes 80% pass marks mandatory for riders, and here is the further process
To become a Patho rider, you need to meet other criteria in addition to obtaining 80% marks in exams. You must have a valid driving license and third-party insurance. After submitting these documents, they are verified by the company. Then, you will be taken to an online class where Pathao trains you on behavior with the customers, how to use digital wallets, how to take orders on the app, etc.
According to Hamal, an examinee who fails to obtain 80% of the score in the exam can participate in another exam the following day. “We have been strictly implementing this process since the beginning. We are constantly on a mission to make every rider responsible, knowledgeable, and user-friendly,” she said.
As ride-sharing continues to become more popular and a used service for transport, safety, integrity, discipline, and other topics have also taken center stage. In that regard, Pathao’s stance on 80% marks to become its rider seems timely and worthy of appreciation.
