BYD Dolphin EV has made an enviable sales record. The popular EV model has reached a global 1 million sales milestone. The hatchback has also been very popular in Nepal for its combination of rich features and affordability.
CIMEX Inc., the official seller of BYD cars in Nepal, has expressed delight over the sales feat. In a statement, the company said, “BYD Dolphin has redefined the hatchback segment. We are delighted to see it become the first choice for families that want a safe, smart, and an eco-friendly vehicle,” the company added, “We are committed for EV ecosystem’s expansion, after-sales customer service, and transformation of the country’s healthy mobility.”
Dolphin EV was launched by CIMEX Inc. in Nepal in 2023, and there are 2,500 units of the model on the roads across the country.

According to CIMEX, BYD is already testing the 2026 variant of the Dolphin EV, which is expected to come with a refined engine and specs.
Dolphin EV is built on e-platform 3.0 and comes with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, mobile connectivity, and a Level 2 ADAS system for safety. Being feature-packed with an affordable rate has made it a default choice for Nepalese, especially middle-class households.
