Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Bharatpur Metropolitan City will collaborate to build Nepal’s largest EV charging hub in Ramangar, Chitwan. Announcing the plan, Bharatpur Metropolitan City mayor Renu Dahal said that the authorities are already in the first stage of the ambitious mega plan.
Dahal shared the plan while inaugurating the KADA Auto Expo on Wednesday. “We are currently at the initial phase of the project. We have shown the land to NEA where we plan to set up the charging hub,” she added, “NEA is inspecting the property and soon, it will be handed over which will be followed by a call for a tender and construction work.”

According to Dahal, the Metro is providing NEA 2 bigha of land for the EV charging hub which shall be able to charge at once up to 250 electric vehicles.
Besides Ramnagar, the local government is also entertaining the idea of setting up another charging station in Rampur over 1 bigha of land.
