South Korean tech giant Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 Series at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event on February 25, 2026. The series consists of three models, wherein the base variants are Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus, and the top-end lineup is the Galaxy S26 Ultra, all direct successors to the phones in the Galaxy S25 Series. These are the next-gen flagship phones from Samsung, and not just that, they present the best options for many, they also divide opinions for their innovation or lack thereof. We explore the key details of these phones in this article. Therefore, keep reading.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Overview
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the successor to the S25 Ultra and is arguably the most talked-about smartphone of the series. Successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra from 2025, it features many similarities and a few improvements. The phone has a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 120Hz and up to 2600 nits of peak brightness. These are rather standard issues. However, the innovation here is the inclusion of what Samsung calls a privacy display, which means the screen hides important information when users don’t want others to see it. The feature is hardwired into the pixel level, it’s native, and is more effective than security glass covers.

Design-wise, there is an attempt to deviate. The camera bar on the back is now raised, while in essence, the placements of the optical units are the same. The phone has become slimmer and lighter, too. So, it has become easier to hold in the hand for longer. It’s protected from dust and water with IP68 certification.

The phone has a quad-camera setup. The main sensor is a 200 MP wide one. It’s backed by a 50 MP periscope telephoto with 5X zoom, a 50 MP ultrawide unit, and a 12 MP telephoto unit with 3X zoom. The front has a 12 MP selfie camera. AI features have been enhanced, while some new ones have also added to enhance photo editing and photography. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and features 12/16 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB and 1 TB of storage options.
The phone packs a familiar 5000mAh battery with an improved fast-charging, 60W wired to juice it up 75% in 30 minutes thanks to a new-generation fast-charging technology. It supports WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, and features USB Type-C 3.2 and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
