Dhulikhel Hospital has launched its mobile app bringing online medical services to smartphone users. Situated in Kavre, the hospital aims at helping people access some hospital services for people without having to queue up in lines.
The hospital brought its mobile app in collaboration with Midas Technologies which operates under the IME Group. The service is useful for smartphone users and especially for those who can’t afford a trip to the hospital and prefers online services.
Dhulikhel Hospital app features:
The app brings many facilities to people without having to physically visit the hospital. The app allows people to book ‘online appointments’ and receive lap reports. The hospital expects the service to not only make its services convenient but also save people’s time otherwise spent visiting the hospital.
Additionally, through the Dhulikhel Hospital mobile app, people can get health insurance benefits provided by the Heath Insurance Board from the Government of Nepal (GoN), get free ticket booking to the hospital, and get insurance information for free.
E-health is slowly gaining prominence in Nepal. The growing use of smartphones and awareness are making it possible for service providers to launch online services. Many of the services which were provided at the hospital are now possible through the mobile app which also complements the Digital Nepal vision.
The need is to aware more citizens of such services while also continuing to improve and expand them for higher access among more people, especially for those in remote hills of Nepal.
